And the drops keep coming! Whee! A new 20+ year low.
On Friday, I ate very little, so yesterday I got really hungry around midday. Since I was at work, with no opportunity to go get something, I just acknowledged it, and the tummy rumbles stopped. They returned while I was driving home, and I thought about stopping to get something, but I just went to Walmart, and I have a house full of food.
I ended up making an awesome dinner of BBQ country pork rib, grilled asparagus, and sliced tomatoes topped with tarragon mayo. For once, cooking didn't kill my appetites, and I ate every bit of it! SO good!
This was the first time I've grilled asparagus, and I'm totally hooked! I tossed the raw spears in olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder. What incredible flavor and texture they had. I cooked up a whole 1 lb bundle, and ate all of it. I may have to go out and get more today.
Wishing you all a great and successful Sunday...

Good for you...I, too, find if I don't cave into what my body is demanding and put it off for a bit, the urge goes away and then I enjoy my meal on my terms. You are so close to goal...can you feel it? I can't wait to be under 10# from goal...nice loss today!

Congratulations! We are on pace to reach our goals! Re asparagus: If you can't grill outside, you can do this by watching carefully in the oven broiler. But also, you can treat the asparagus the same way -- with olive oil and salt -- and then bake on cookie sheet at 425 for about 12 minutes. I usually test with a fork poke at 12 minutes, and sometimes they need a little more. I do this about once a week! Also, here's another one: Blanch green beans in boiling water for three minutes. Then toss them with garlic chili sauce and a little sesame oil and spread on cookie sheet. Bake at 400 for about 15 minutes. If you use the thin haricots vert you can skip the blanching and just start with the raw thin beans.

Congratulations on another loss - you're doing so well! I bake my asparagus the same as Hermoines Mom. I love it cooked this way. Hope you're having a great Sunday too.

I actually did the asparagus on a broiler pan in my convection toaster oven, just like you mentioned H.Mom! So much tastier than steamed. I have GOT to try your green bean suggestion. It sounds yummy!

I grow asparagus in my garden, and by far my favorite is with it blanched and served with hollandaise sauce. Sadly, my current diet does not allow butter, so I will have to try it with olive oil, or perhaps I will simple serve it with an egg over easy to keep the runny yolk.

Homemade mayonnaise is easy and delicious. I made some flounder filets today steamed with asparagus and served with horseradish mayo. It was yummy! Also I made a keto dip with fresh herbs from the garden pureed into cream cheese and cream - also yummy with raw peppers and celery.

Try frying the asparagus in a little olive oil and topping it with thin slices of onion that have been pickled in red wine vinegar and slow cooked to reduce the vinegar to a sauce that can be drizzled over afterwards, with cracked peppercorns. (Recipe from Jaime Oliver)
