I find that I’m still in between these two. With my sweet tooth and love of food in general it’s gonna be hard to keep the weight off for good. At my healthiest I would fluctuate 5# or so in a month of not more. I ate a lot more than I do now but I was younger, more active(like constantly rearranging my furniture active) and more muscle mass. I think I’m happy here at 135ish as long as I don’t go over. However I’d really like to go 120 and drop fat as I go then bulk up back to 130-135 with muscle. I think I’m going to need an actual personal trainer and dietician to make that happen by spring. I won’t restrict myself over the holidays for at least 3-4 days total. It’s miserable trying to cut back and then I obsess over food rather than enjoy the company. So I’ve got to be below 130 by thanksgiving for a cushion lol. Lose it before rather than after and feel guilty ☺️.

the day I saw food as fuel really flipped a switch in my head for me. people laugh at me because my diet really has been about 6 different meals for the last 18 months.... do I enjoy tuna rice and veg everyday for lunch.... some days not so much but like this pic illustrates consistency is king!

I totally agree with you! Being consistent and finding something that is durable for you on a daily basis and a long term goal.

I never found that switch Keith is talking about. It sure works I just can't do it for more than a couple weeks before it comes crashing down. Food is a big part of my life and I must eat what I love regularly. A great example of different people needing to be on different plans.

I think during the week (maintenance I’m in maintenance people 😉) i see food as fuel. And weekends it’s harder cause I do not work. I still am in a diet considering how other people eat, but I do eat more on weekends 😋

I think for us that have deep issues with food we gotta somewhat see food as fuel. But we also gotta learn that we can enjoy that extra food with our love ones

I just eat try to eat below 1000 calories everyday if i can, until i reach the weight i want, and if im happy with it, I eat the calories required to maintain that weight... not a hard concept to keep up
