Mangos from Jamaica make the mangos in Canada taste like garbage, all imported of course and 99% awful. Wish sometimes I never tasted a ‘real’ one!

i love mango but i find that to get it just ripe enough is challenging.. it's either tough and starchy or super mushy.. neither of which is particularly appetizing. is the window of perfect mango delightfulness really that small, or is it just me? got any tips on how to get the perfect mango?
