I changed one thing I was doing in this past week, and I actually LOST 1-1/2 pounds. In my yearly Bible reading plan, I came across some verses in I Timothy 4:3-4. It warns against people who order us "to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving," So, instead of forbidding myself to eat the things I love, I just decided to pray more about the foods as I'm eating them, and to be thankful to God for providing them. I'm still eating pretty much the same thing as I WAS eating, I'm just acknowledging God and thanking Him for my food. Don't know if it will work for anybody else, but (at least for THIS week) it has worked for me. Enjoy and be thankful!

Sounds good. I think if we stick to what God made (fruits veggies meats etc.) and that have not been altered by man (processed, gmo, added hormones and antbiotics), we will certainly be healthier. He didn't design our bodies for man-altered foods.

About 20 years ago I lost 52lbs and I did pray alot about it. It certainly helps with mindfulness and helps re-direct your focus to be good to yourself as I believe God intended for us! 🙂 One thing I never did before that is helping me now is eating more protein. It helped end my sugar cravings. 20% of my daily calories is protein. I used to only eat about 13% because I love carbs! The sweeter and more fattening the harder for me to resist! It took about 3 weeks for my sugar cravings to subside. I have no doubt that looking to God for strength, and wisdom and using the tools He has given us will make you successful!!!

Well done. Looking after ourselves spiritually and emotionally is so important as the body needs all of its parts to be working together in unity to keep us healthy. I have been going through some challenges but eating my emotions away only resulted in me feeling so much worse afterwards. I have been listening to motivating music, youtube videos, working on my spiritual side, gone back to gym and increased my proteins and have started the intermitted 16:8 fast. Every time I don't get up late at night to snack I tell myself how awesome I am for not giving in or giving up. Dont ever give up.

Being mindful and grateful I think brings it all into focus. Love the reminder!

Didnt the bible also say somewhere that it is forbidden to eat crustaceans? 🥴 the bible can be so contradictory 😔😕

Im not a Bible scholar but I believe those biblical laws are under the old testament and followed if you are Jewish. Christians don't follow those laws because the gentiles weren't under the levitical laws. In the new testament I believe they were told they could eat any meat. I personally think that back in those days the laws were created to keep the people healthy because there was no modern medicine as we have today. It makes sense because I think eating too many crustaceans can cause gout and I don't know how they prepped their food but ham is very high in sodium. If a person has heart disease they should avoid or limit those foods. I don't think laws in the Bible are arbitrary but were meant to be protective in nature.

I agree to some extent regarding those old biblical/Torah/religious scripts rules being to protect people, like with hygiene stuff. But some of the rules are bizarre
