Hey all! I hope everyone has been well. I have just been slaying the binge eating dragon. I joined a fasting program with support groups, videos, counselors, etc. I think it will be helpful to get me past the binge eating.
Thank you for the support. I really appreciate it. My goal is to get under 299 and stay there for a month. Well, actually stay there forever but I can't seem to make it a month. I get under 299 and then immediately gain it back.
So the number one rule of fasting is you don't talk about fasting. This is because many people don't understand it at all and think you are starving yourself, eating your muscles, destroying your metabolism. All wrong and untrue.
But I like to put myself out there and be honest about what I'm doing in case I can help someone else. So I am doing ADF (alternate daily fasting) of 42 hours and then eating 2 meals and doing it again. My main reason for doing this is to lower my blood sugar, reverse insulin resistance and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Losing weight is a side-benefit.
Oh and yeah my last day of work was last Friday. I got laid off and I'm seriously thinking of taking a few months off to work on my health. I realize you can always work on it but this is a serious problem for me at this weight. I can't mess around anymore with failure because of the diabetes.

You have less than 10# to make your breakthrough, I have 6#. These 6 lbs. for me are the most difficult. If I can do this it will be a HUGE breakthrough.

Would you mind telling me the name of the fasting program? I'm trying to do 16:8 fasting but it's not going anywhere so maybe I'm doing something wrong. My glucose is too high and I need to get it under control.

You can do it Shelly...put yourself first...and go at your own pace...doesn’t matter how long it takes to get where you want to go ...as long as your moving forward towards your goal your on the right track. Good luck!
