Diario de broncofanky, 15 oct. 21

Ok so it has been a LONG summer! Towards the end of June some lithium ion batteries blew up in my pocket spewing flames for what seemed like an eternity! I ended up with severe full thickness burns from my butt to below my knee. I was told by the burn clinic to forget about dieting for a while. My body was going to need 4 or 5 thousand calories a day just for the healing process! Needless to say, much of my progress was completely wiped out. On top of having to eat more, I was bed rest for at least a month and very limited for the better part of two months after that. The batteries on my scale are dead(thankfully!) but the last time I was in the Dr office they weighed me at 316.😥 I have been trying to get more active, but I am struggling with motivation. I am trying to get back into the swing of eating like I was, but all the good habits I had developed have been obliterated! Decided I needed to get back on here and lean on you guys as you have all always been so supportive and encouraging. pray for me as I start this journey over yet again!❤

Glad you are recovering well, very severe burns like that are no joke. You know what to do regarding food. Even without moving, limiting your intake to healthy nutrients is enough to drop weight at a nice pace.

I am the same weight and just started the app. My only goal to start is to eat fewer calories than the app recommends. It was recommended to me not to stress about moving too much until I lose 10% or so of my weight by counting calories. I walk and do stretches but much more is very painful at this weight. Start small and be nice to yourself. Look what you've overcome so far. You can do this.

You can recover from this...just take small steps like drinking more water, taking walks, eating one meal a day back on your program...

Oh goodness. That’s crazy about the batteries and scary!! 😱 Heal and restart. And don’t ever put batteries in your pocket again!!!!! That’s the momma bear in me. I had to say it!! 😊😊

welcome back BF! I'm so sorry about the horrible burn accident you suffered and the long and painful aftermath. I'd encourage you to reestablish your way of eating and tracking. Follow it strictly to prove it still works and you can lose a pound or two. Then build on it and add any physical activity that you can in your injured condition. Be persistent and your weight will start with a 2 before you know it.

bronco man I'm so sorry. burns suck. I've done similar but caught it fast enough. had what I thought to be a dead 9v in my pocket and it shorted out with change. got super hot. thankfully no damage. heal fast man.

You can do a little everyday to be healthier while you heal. Godspeed!

That totally sucks. I was close to my goal weight when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and told I couldn't diet during or before the treatment. I also boomeranged up a lot - over 100 pounds. When I was starting to feel better, it was walking that was necessary - 3 times a day for 5-15 minutes - to get my body used to having basic energy again throughout the day. When I was finally allowed to diet again - and do something about the weight gain, it felt so good. I still have another 6 months or more to get back to where I was - and then more weight loss to go. The difference is that I now *know* what diet works well for me. You can do this! Try to lean into finally getting to get back to self-care and doing the activities you want to do - instead of being forbidden them. It's like chocolate - if you are told you can't have it, you may crave it more.

Yikes, so sorry to hear about the burns. Recovery takes a long time--so hang in there, take each day as it comes. Glad you're back!
