Not doing well. Weight is WAY up! Have to make a decision VERY SOON about what I'm going to do to start LOSING weight. I'm at that dangerous point where I'm ready to fall into the obesity abyss. Teetering barely on the right side of 260. My highest ever was 302 (only 42 pounds away). I can't go back there.

I can diet. (trying to talk myself into this). I've dieted before with great results. I've done GREAT on losing weight in the past. I've done all kinds of different diets, and I can pretty much make any one of them work ... for awhile. I can fast, but I don't want to do that. I don't think I could do Intermittent Fasting (IF). For me, it has to be an all or nothing kind of thing.

Sigh.

Sorry D. Not sure what about IF is not all you need to change to start losing. But dieting does fail in the long run if we go back to eating the way we did before losing some. So instead of dieting, pick a way of eating that will for sure result in reduced weight and make a commitment to stick to it for the rest of your life. IF is suitable for that. Or keto. Or carnivore. Standard American diet (SAD diet), not so much.

I don't have any suggestions and think it is only you that can motivate and correct the problem. I feel for you and good luck; you have the support from all the FS'ers.

I love you Debbie. If it has to be all or nothing, how about giving up all the diet sweeteners that are killing the friendly bacteria in your gut, and will eventually lead to more and more depression. Those diet drinks are deadly for you. The inflammation in your gut and brain that they cause has frightening consequences. I too am addicted to sweets and high carbs that just turn into high blood sugar and I was on a downward spiral because of it. They too contribute to depression. I want to keep my brain so am trying to give up sweets and then will attack wheat which has been hybridized 1000 times in the last 100 years so has become so very inflammatory. Our bodies don't recognize this modern stuff like it was originally. I'm praying for you, sister.

Is it your eating or what’s eating you? Time to have a serious talk with yourself, my love. This is your life. Are you living authentically, being true and kind to yourself? If you are hurting your health and happiness, then you aren’t. I’m behind you, Debbie. You aren’t alone when you have the FS group behind you. 🤗🤗🤗☀️

Would love to see you again at our next challenge. We don't have to do all of the things listed. If I "fail" something, I certainly don't see myself as a failure. We can be proud of any small changes on any given day. I will never be consistently successful each and every day. I'm so sorry you are struggling.

Get the diet Coke out of your house!! Pour it down the drain! It is making you insulin resistant, plus the sweet taste makes you want more. The artificial sweetners are poison to your body. Would you let an alcoholic keep liquor in the house? It is the same thing with the Coke.
