~The Little Thrills Along the Way~Rescheduling Fatter-day~

First off, I'm making a note to self here. My usual Thursday "Fatter-day" has been rescheduled for today. A controversial, yet very learned ethologist is coming to town tonight to host a lecture on Critical thought that I'm excited to attend. However, since Thursday plans have changed for my mom as well, it made sense to make our "splurge-day" for today and go out to dinner before going to the lecture.

In addition, the Northwest conservancy is having a benefit wine tasting next Sunday, so NEXT week's normal "fatter-day" has been moved to this upcoming Sunday, which will leave 10 full days after the benefit, without a splurge day.

I confess, that will be a challenge as my brain has grown conditioned to splurging on Thursdays. But, I agree with mom; it's good for the brain to get used to these kinds of accommodations. Life is full of them, and there's more than one approach to creating balance. I'll just have to look at it like one of those FS challenges - 10 DAYS WITH NO SPLURGE, STARTING MAY 1.

Exercise and diet have been going well:
I'm now 15 minutes into level 15 on the recumbent bike, with another 10 minutes in level 14, and 5 in cool down. Wednesday, I'll move to 20 minutes in level 15, with 5 in level 14, and 5 in cool down.

On Wednesday- I will also be taking all the strength training reps for upper body from 42 to 45, abductor leg lifts - 43, wall push-ups 44, and sit-ups 32

It's all incremental increases, but I confess the last 2 days something is breaking or adjusting in my body. I have a hard time putting it in words. I'm no longer feeling as much muscle fatigue and soreness the next day after a work out as i once did. Dare I say it, I have more energy and stamina! At the same time, I feel relaxed and at ease. I feel less heavy. Walking up the stairs is not such a chore. I'm still stiff when I walk, but there's less pain in my joints. I LOVE HOW LOOSE MY CLOTHES ARE STARTING TO FEEL. My bra fits the way it's supposed too!

Probably the biggest little thrill I'm getting is one that I promise I won't get into to much detail about, but inspires me to stay committed, nonetheless.

It was about a year and a half after I moved here 4 years years ago and diet had become an after thought. I noticed I was getting impacted a lot in the "intestinal" area. In fact, before the last 70 days it feels like it's been chronic for 2 years! All I can say is I never had to worry about that before. In fact, at a size 12 162-168 lbs, I often went more than once a day, and with no problems in that arena. I don't know if it's the intermittent fasting, smaller portions, or exercise...etc., or all 3 but frankly constipation has stopped being an issue.

Now, if that don't put a lil pep in a girl's step, I don't know what will! LOL. Anyhow, as previously stated it's a small thrill but enough to make me want to continue the commitment for the intestinal benefits, alone! And, as you all know sometimes along this journey, ya have to find some joy in the little things...

Favorite quote for the day by Cheryl Strayed from her book "Wild"

"There is a sunrise and a sunset every day and you can choose to be there for it. You can put yourself in the way of beauty."

Have a wonderful day, everyone!
