Finally, some headway! Literally. Last night I woke up at around 12:00 with a splitting headache. I noted every time I tried to lay down or leaned left and right my head felt like it was going to explode. I had already done half a dose of the Flonase in addition 600 mg of ibuprofin and a pain killer to help with the sore in the back of my throat. But, this Flu has just left my poor sinuses a mess!

These sinuses are already prone to infection and swelling from seasonal allergies, but I hadn't experienced that head splitting headache for quite some time. I finally said, enough!

I have a HUGE stash of prescription Clariton that was prescribed to me back in 2013. I don't know why, but my doctor prescribed me 10 boxes worth on top of 4 refills and the Flonase. I guess my sinus infection at that time was pretty bad. LOL! I remember she took one look up my nose and exclaimed, "Oh, my goodness...oh that's bad!"

hehehe...I was clueless. I never had allergies before I moved here and frankly never had a sinus infection. All I knew was that I kept having splitting headaches that made me dizzy and nauseous, and seemed to hurt even worse when making any sudden movements with my head.

Apparently, my nose told the truth.

Anyhow, she prescribed a MOUNTAIN of meds. I never even got through a quarter of them. The C-pac she prescribed along with about a weeks worth of the claritin did the trick. We just stashed all the rest away and use when needed. I've come to notice this year on those occasions when I wake up with a headache and motrin doesn't do the trick, I swallow some claritin and boom, headache disappears.

I'm not always sure how to tell the difference between a normal headache and a sinus headache because mine don't always come with a stuffy nose.

Fortunately, there was no mistaking last night's headache as sinus related. I know Claritin is for allergies, but I've had a sneaking suspicion part of the reason why my nose is so affected by this flu is because there are allergies involved and the combo is bitch-slapping my poor nasal passages and my head to boot.

So, I gave in an popped a claritin. Sure enough, within 30 minutes my whole head felt like someone had finally released or unscrewed a vise. I immediately took this long deep breath through my nostrils. Oxygen never tasted so sweet! I still can't smell, but I don't care. At least I can breathe through my nose!

I slept fitfully, because claritin is after-all a "non-drowsy" formula. The fitbit only shows 4 hours. I woke up at 4 a.m., and the throbbing was starting up again, so I took the second dose. By 6:00 a.m., it kicked my headaches ass, but I feel exhausted. Not to mention, I did my workout yesterday, and though it was at a lower intensity, my body still needs rest.

Fortunately, today is a rest day (no workout) and since I've limited my "fatter-days" to one cheat meal, mom and me won't be dining out until next Thursday. I figure I can squeeze my cheat meal in at lunch, which is just as well because I frankly want to go straight to bed when I get home. I'm relieved there's no beer Thursday at work, and I can state right now, even if there were I won't drink anything. For some reason, beer can aggravate my sinuses at times.

I weighed in 193.4 this a.m. It made me chuckle. I mean when you consider everything this poor body is going through, on top of the fact that I've asked it to work out 2 days in a row, in tandem with stuffing it full of allergy meds, pain meds, and cold meds...I thought .8 raise in water weight was very polite. I smiled at the number. I almost waved at 193.4, we were never formally introduced. My body just whooshed it's way down to 192.6 before I had a chance say hi or by to 193! lol..

Actually, this was a good thing to see. For those who find my digits darting around the scale to much, or frustrating to watch. I highly recommend you "unfollow" me, because that's not going to stop, regardless of whether there's a cheat meal, half a cheat meal, or no cheat meal at all. This is the "truth" of weight fluctuation. It's what the body does. And, if it's a truth that some can't handle, it's okay to excuse yourself. The bird's eye view already indicates I'm headed in the right direction, and I'm frankly not concerned with the pace because I don't need to be and pace is not the priority for this girl's journey, it's the progress happening in the middle of these fluctuations that's pretty amazing.

And, when I consider what this body wasn't able to do just 5 months ago versus what it can do now, even when I'm sick! This girl is ever growing content with this stroll down through onederland.

Have a "onederful" day everyone!
