DOWN ANOTHER 2.2 LBS OF WATER WEIGHT, AND WEIGHING IN AT 191.6 THIS A.M. WOOHOO. We're just .6 lbs away from my last stated low :-) Psst...psst, I have a feeling there is a "new" stated low in there, but ya'll have to give me a few props for being able to get rid of 4.8 lbs of water in 2 days after a weeks worth of monumentally high doses of steroids, LOL.

And, this is especially a gift because I "cheated" last night and went a whole 145 cals over my RDI, and since that 145 cals was another glass of wine, technically one might conclude I should have gained some more water. I actually lot this little break to a few factors. 1) I definitely burned some calories yesterday because I did my normal workout in addition to the pool, and as some may know, the pool will burn up calories pretty quick, 2) I got at least 2.7 liters of water in me, so not as hydrated as I normally get to lose water, but hydrated enough, and 3) I definitely banked a few calories during my time at the hospital because I kept to such a low RDI, so in short my daily caloric average is still within range for weight loss. Although, that being stated I want to remain diligent in sticking with the 1270 caloric range and not take to much for granted in terms of wiggle room. It's too easy to grab a mile from an inch, ya know and I still have a weeks worth of oral steroids to go.

I don't feel any difference in sensation on the lower half, but am remembering what the Doctors said in terms of it taking weeks for sensation to actually return, and up to 4-5 months for functionality. It's hard for my mind to grasp what the next 4-5 months looks like. When sensation returns, what will it feel like? When functionality returns, what will that feel like? Please universe, on all that is holy, let it not be painful. Let me be able to still workout and be active. Wasn't it less than 2 weeks ago, I was able to feel shaggy carpet, soft grass, warm pavement beneath my feet? Wasn't it less than 2 weeks ago I was running up the deck stairs without a second thought, instead of using a cain and a side rail. It's so weird sometimes to think about how things can shift so quickly from one state of being to another.

I am using the cain around the house, now. It became clear to all of us yesterday that everything was easier to manage with the cain. That lack of feeling in my lower half makes my brain work overtime to find balance, so even if I'm not clinging to the walls, it's constant concentration to maintain upright and just "trust" your legs are going to do what you need them to do. Stairs are a bit terrifying. I can't feel that pull that tells me how to keep my center of gravity. It's like walking with your legs wrapped tightly in bubblewrap. After using the cane to manage getting in and out of the pool, I realized I felt a lot more steady and confident having it with me when I walked anywhere in the house, just in case the muscles in my legs decide they all of sudden don't want to work or have reached their limit.

I can feel a slight charlie horse in my right quad and calf this a.m., which lets me know I probably over worked that muscle yesterday. So, I know I want to try and be kind to the right side today and probably the left. But, that being stated we will be increasing reps today, with the exception of the push ups. We're still working to get through 17 without taking break. But, almost there...So, today's workout is as follows

After stretching, start first with my hardest:
1. 17 modified floor push-ups
2. 28 Shoulder presses
3. 28 Tricep push backs
4. 33 Shoulder raises
5. 33 side angled push backs
6. 10 squats

then go to:
1. 20 inner thigh piques
2. 16 inner thigh circles
3. 22 Side lying double lifts
4. 10 knee lifts

then we can go to the bike:
1. As per rotation - resistance to level 15 for 30 minutes
2. 10 squats

End with:
1. 33 bicep curls
2. 60 sit-ups, 120 crunches
3. 43 abductor lifts in all 4 positions
4. 33 tricep raises

Have a beautiful day, everyone!
