~Some updates and tweaks~First off, yours truly has officially hit 150 crunches and 60 sit ups! WOOHOO!!! Not to shabby for a girl just received her first official diagnosis of MS. Which, is the next update! After meeting with the MS specialist yesterday, here is the long and short of it:

- There is now an official diagnoses of Multiple Sclerosis and we have taken Transverse Myelitis off the table. All test results for other infections that cause TM have come back negative. What's left meets every single criteria for a strait forward diagnosis of MS.

-Techfidera - an oral medication (immunosuppressive) will be taken twice a day, as soon as the insurance company approves it. (p.s., no worries, even if they don't approve, it's experimental enough, the pharmaceutical company will likely provide it for free)

The risks of this treatment:
PML, which is a rare brain infection that usually leads to death or severe disability.
Decreases in white blood cell count.

Note: Incurring PML is extremely rare with regards to this drug and white blood cell counts will be monitored to ensure I don't dip to low.

-They've also prescribed me baclofen for the muscle banding and tightness in my legs (this will help with my workouts and physical therapy, immensely)

-last but not least I will be going to physical therapy as St. Lukes. However, the numbness and lack of sensation in my lower extremities from the waist down is considered the result of "damage" to the spinal chord by the active lesion still wrapped around part of the chord (damn lil bugger), and so the lack of sensation and numbness is considered a permanent condition. I may get a little sensation back, but what we see is perty much what we get. This is also why the Doctor wants to get aggressive with treatment, so that we can prevent and/or minimize any further damage.

But, ya know I'll take it because damn skippy, I can still walk!!! And, if we can get the balance back in tow, a cane may be the only thing I'll need to eventually use.

All in all, it may not be predictable, but it's workable and I can live with that...

In other news, I FINALLY figured out how to recalculate my RDI on FS to reflect what I want! I know, I know, learning is delayed for some of special needs folks. Ha ha! Even better, I realized on the "calorie calculator" I use on calorie.net, I had been putting in "light exercise" 1-3 days a week, instead of "moderate" exercise 3-5 days a week, thus my RDI for my weight range was coming out lower for a mean average of losing 1.5 lbs per week. To be honest, I'm wondering is they even had an option for 3-5 days a week when I first started using that site, but whatever. Either way, since I DO exercise 4-5 times a week, the mean average to lose 1.5 lbs per week is actually around 1500, not the 1270 I've been in and around. To that end, I made sure to adjust my RDI on FS accordingly.

I did have my fatter-day yesterday, but it was pretty mild and we only topped out at 1900 kcals. I only gained 1.4 lbs of water weight, which I think is the least amount I've ever gained from a cheat meal this whole time.

3 Day workout cycle begins today and at least now we have some muscle relaxers to help with the banding and muscle spasticity. I look forward to seeing what new exercises I'll be incorporating for physical therapy. Until, then keep on pedaling through folks, and have a wonderful Friday!
