leaving for PA for a week. won't be able to weigh myself. probably a good break. I've been careful eating, and exercising daily, and have lost no weight at all. I know what is tell another person, "you're eating too much". and it's probably true. Still, demoralizing even when it's understandable. maybe a few days away from routine can help jump start change. bowl gym will be closed, so I'll need to be creative.

have a good weekend all.

Yea I know that feel. Despite rigorous calories limitation and logging 1000kcal deficit daily for 3 straight weeks I was stagnant at 86kg. On verge of reverting to my old ways of “Eat healthy, keep fit but die anyway so why bother?”. Fortunately I chanced upon a random blog about fasting which led me to find the renowned authority behind fasting. Read his book, gave a shot and easily hurdled over the plateau simply by doing nothing 😉

Thanks Bernard. I've seen a lot about intermittent fasting lately. I haven't figured out how it fits in my routine. I know that sounds crazy, because it is exactly the kind of rigid thinking that makes me stagnant. I can't imagine skipping morning coffee with milk at 5 am, or making it to dinner before 6 pm. So, 7 pm to 5 am seems like my biggest gap, 10 hrs max. I could tolerate light breakfast, light lunch, moderate dinner, but I'm struggling to really give up the constant flow of calories from milk in my coffee through the day. Maybe intermittently eating less?

@Siegels I do intermittent fasting, but I suppose I do a less rigorous version of it (maybe I should stop calling it IF, haha), because I always have some milk in my morning coffee. But I don't eat snacks or a full meal from 7pm until 11am. That's been working really well for me. Maybe I'm not getting the full benefits of a true fast, but I do feel more energized in the mornings, and I feel truly empowered to acknowledge the feeling of hunger, but not to be controlled by it, if that makes sense. Plus it sort of forces me to really plan my two meals to ensure I'm getting nutritionally balanced things. I think you may find success if you allow yourself the leniency to adapt things to your schedule instead of vice versa - especially since your morning coffee is clearly an important part of your day. =)

Enjoy PA. Going to spend time with your son, I assume. Relax, it'll be a nice switch up for you and you can reapply yourself when you get back.

Are you trying to lose weight? Being In the 140’s is pretty stable. Skip breakfast and you will lose, but do some sort of early exercise, such as 100 push ups or 100 BWS. That will increase the metabolism. Major addition, drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially if you are skipping breakfast. Keep Motivated 😎😎

Be careful in your travels Siegels! I know I get a lot of calories from my milk in my coffee that is life I’m not giving that up ever - way too good!!☕️☕️☕️

Siegels, I could see from your weight history that your 66kg-ish stagnant started as early as November 2020. Insulin is the fats-storing hormone and it's triggered whenever we consume carbohydrates or sweet stuff. Durations of withholding insulin (also known as Intermittent Fasting) is the most direct & effective way of breaking the weight plateau. The easiest way is to skip breakfast or at least have no carbo/ sugar in the morning. Can consider having your 5am coffee without cream ;)
