Slow but steady wins the race! Right? I am getting out to walk most days and move more in general! I don’t always stick to the - no white-flour,sugar, or potatoes however trying to do a plate of mostly veggies and less processed food seems to be helping. Not just in weight loss but less inflammation! Are any of you trying the anti-inflammatory diets out there? Any advice? Thanks FS family for the daily dose of inspiration and motivation! Happy Friday!☀️🌻🌈🌟

You may want to look up anti-inflammatory foods - it can help. I also dropped most dairy -I eat very little and that also helped. Just some ideas.

What HCB said. I try to eat corn tortillas in place of flour. Whole wheat real bread , I like Dave's Killer 21 Grain. There really are a lot of choices when trying to reduce inflammation, you just have to see what works for you and find foods that you enjoy. Dessert can be tricky, but it's easy if you think outside of the box. After awhile you'll find that you feel so much better with eating nutritious food that you enjoy. 👍

Cutting caffeine markedly reduced inflammation. I love my coffee but sometimes decaffeinated will just have to do. It is worth the switch in times of inflammation.

I recently had to go gluten free for celiac disease. I’ve seen a HUGE difference already (ring size went from a 7 to a 5.5 & my waist went down 4” in two weeks). I also avoid high lactose stuff because it gives me issues. But, I’m still having some sporadic joint pain and occasional IBS. One of the RN care advocates recommended doing the “check my body health” food sensitivity test. It’s on sale right now and tests for 970 different things. I’m still waiting for that to come back but, I’m hoping that it will give me more insight. Once I hear back, I’m planning on doing an elimination diet and slowly add stuff back to see what happens.

Consider eliminating anything in the nightshade family too (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, & eggplant)... my son had some issues with inflammation a few years ago and eliminating those did the trick for him. It’s definitely trial and error. The food sensitivity test sounds interesting... I’ll be researching!

I have inflammation issues. I've known I've always had them, but never really considered my diet all that much. I just chalked it up to salt and water retention. It's been a discovery this year to foods I could handle and not handle without painful bloating. My water consumption has never been adequate too until now. Less processed flour has been life changing for the most part. 970 different things is a lot!!! Good luck with that and keep us posted.

I agree with Grandma Sadie on the nightshades. I am not on that diet but as a general rule I try to avoid processed foods. I agree you you; slow and steady will likely give a lasting weight loss.
