Diario de Mrs.Failla, 31 may. 21

Hi friends, not doing a weigh in today, not till Friday but I just wanted to record/post this. Tomorrow is the big day, my quit smoking date. As you know, I've been preparing for this for 3 weeks. I've been taking chantix for 2 weeks. I'm nervous and scared a little bit but I'm also very ready, prepared and motivated! I'm asking for extra support right now. I have to keep reminding myself that I had a heart attack, even though it was minor and I'm having a hard time processing it, as if I don't fully believe it. Tonight before bed I'm throwing away my ashtrays. Other than that, I've been doing really good with my diet but exercise is very limited due to a bulging hernia I've had untreated for almost 2 years now, it looks like I'm 9 months pregnant on top of just being heavy. I'm going to see a general surgeon about that later this month but I'm scared to death of surgery. Well, wish me luck you guys! any advice or tips are always welcomed and appreciated!

The first step is the most important! There will be some struggle, commit to it-pay off follows! Remember the contract with youself in every little moment of weakness to come... I wish you luck and courage with all my heart

Thank you so very much Patricia Yellow. I'm nervous about it but it is a contract with myself and I am ready. I kind of dread it, honestly I'm reluctant to smoke that last cigarette and throw out my ashtrays and go to bed! But I know I can do it! I'm very motivated, I have to take this heart attack as a wake up call. My daughter is autistic and she's only 10, I really need to live as long as possible for her. It's sad how emotionally connected we become with our addictions, it's like a mental illness. Thanks for the support!

My husband quit smoking a few years ago he used and still does sugar free candies to help. I also have a child with autism so I know how it is to need to be there for them. Good luck

What I see is that you couldn't be more ready for it my friend! An other idea you must have heard already is to gather gradually the exact money you would spend on smoking and treat yourself as well as your gorgeous something wonderful! It can be something luxurious dor you both to enjoy! Also, you will be surprised at the benefits you will enjoy being smoke-free! Smoking was a 'friend' that served it's purpose and you can goodbye them now in,why not, appreciation- and part! Go on,lioness!
