Diario de AmberLaine, 24 jul. 21

*sigh*

I will do well all day, and then "blow it" at dinner. Last night, we were delayed in picking up groceries, and I had just got off work, everyone was hungry and cranky, so we just got Arby's. Today I am off, which is always a struggle on the diet.

Pray for me. I'd really like to bust through this slump before I lose too much motivation.

I know what I am supposed to be doing - I just need to do it!

How did you blow it? Are you counting your calories at all because if you have the calories for the food- it's ok to eat. Doesn't need to be every day. A beef and cheddar is 450 calories and 20+ protein. I will pray for you! You can do it!

I guess "blow it" was a little dramatic. But I did feel like the rest of the day was wasted. I am meant to be counting calories, but I find it difficult as I make a lot of soups and stuff, which cannot be easily calculated. I finally got new batteries for my food scale, so I can try a little harder now. Realistically, I probably only went over budget a little bit, if at all since breakfast and lunch were relatively light (protein shake with zucchini and cherries, and kale soup with sausage and a few pieces of potato).

LOL- Being dramatic is fun sometimes. If nothing else you can just put the food in FS and kinda get an average calorie for it. I try to go high when I don't know- I mean if it is something you are interested in doing.

Find reasons to really "need" to do it or tell yourself the truth that you don't really think you need to. Not trying to be mean, but we kid ourselves a lot. What are your motivations, the real, deep down, serious ones? I made a long list of reasons I wanted to change my habits, and many of them had nothing to do with weight loss itself. I read that list every day, often more than once, for at least three months. I did not count calories for most of my weight loss, but I was very determined to manage my compulsive eating, mostly of sweets, and for most meals stuck to a divided plate concept. I'm tracking now, eleven years later, mostly having maintained the loss, for other reasons, and because of advancing age, have to figure out new routines. BTW, it is extremely common to be "good" all day and "blow" it at dinner. Eat more during the day! And include some little fun, nice things to support your spirit along the way.
