Oh damn.. well it's been darn near 7 months since my last entry. I started losing faith in myself and gave up for a little while. but I'm back and hopefully will do better this time. I am definitely struggling with my identity. I was thin for most of my life. I'm 43 and probably 3 years ago had nearly given up and just didn't care anymore and I started to gain some but it still wasn't that bad. I went through some stuff right around the beginning of the pandemic and that coupled with being locked in really pushed my problem over the edge. March 6, 2021 I quit smoking and began my 'diet' .. I was religious with the exercise and eating better for 6 months and saw VERY little weight loss and let that get the best of me. I gave up for a time but am back and am going to try and put the effort in to get back on the horse and try not to put so much pressure on myself this time. Hopefully I will be able to keep in mind that small progress is still progress. On the up side, I made it a year without smoking and did not return to that. I was a heavy smoker for far too long so I'm pretty proud I made it this long.

Mesa - you can totally do this! You have beaten the BIG one - cigs! 🚬!!! You are letting your lungs regain their strength. NOW, you are free to control your calories. LOG EVERYTHING!! Even if you go over your "limit" (Recommended Daily Intake RDI). Logging allows you to see what works and what doesn't. Read everything you can here and do some research- talk it over with your doc. There are very good diets here - but what works for someone else may not work for what you need! Anyway - welcome back! This is what I NEED and maybe it is what you need, too!

Seven months, most of it fall & winter, quit smoking and only a 2lb gain through a all... I'd call that a win! And on top of that, you're showing renewed interest! Shout it girl! ⚖️📉👍😊📢👏🎉

Congratulations on the year smoke free. It's a hard habit to break! 22 years later and there are times when I still feel like I need a cigarette.

You can do this. I struggle with the same thing, super thin until in my 40s without any effort. Now it is a fight. But you are worth it.

Thanks @dkavery I appreciate it. We both are! @jeannieselby thank you. I have the same issue but just got to the year mark. Was hoping it let up soon because I feel like that too. I'm only 43 and smoked for 26 years. It's tough not having it as a crutch but feels great that I was able to conquer it thus far. @LooseButtons I did NOT think of it that way thank you so so much! @3dkids2 I so appreciate the advice and will do just that. Thank you! @DJinVegas thank you. Wonderful quote! Needed to hear that! 💕💕💕 You guys are so great and it really helps having others cheer you on. I appreciate you all so much!!
