Weight still up after another salt-laden day. Going to skip the cashews and peanuts today (and there will be no tortilla chips). Still, I use salted butter on my Dave's Killer Bread Good Seed toast, and I eat three mini pretzel twists each time I complete 2/10th of a mile of walking.

Yesterday was the first day I've done 2/10th instead of 1/10th after every half hour of sitting. It was a lot easier than I thought, but my knees are REALLY complaining this morning - first thing I noticed when I woke up. Going to put some Voltaren on them and do my morning grocery store walking. After that, we are taking a truckload of stuff to my son's house, so I won't be home to do my house walking. (Maybe I'll walk down their street, if it is a pretty level surface.) If my knees are still hurting when I get home, I may give them a day of rest. I've gone for 15 days in a row with the extra walking. I will STILL meet my goal (which is just to put on my walking shoes), and I will get in at least 3/10th of a mile at the store.

Got in my usual eight 8-oz waters yesterday, and kept Diet Coke to under 2 liters.

When we went to dinner last night, our friends brought us two cookie/brownies. When I got home, I got out my little 6-oz Corelle bowl, put the brownie in the bottom, scooped on 1/4 cup of ice cream and had a few pecans on top. This was the first real "dessert" I've had in a couple of weeks. I'm THINKING about making another Franklin Nut Cake again soon, thought. The friends who took us out would NOT let us pay (which was the plan when we invited them), so I'd like to give them several slices of cake as a gesture of thanks.

I ordered a wall calendar, on which I get to put a nice fat X each day that I've accomplished my five mini-goals. The intent is to keep the chain of X's going without breaking it. Since my mini goals are so easy that they can be done on the worst day of my life (the intent), I can hopefully go for the rest of my life always accomplishing them.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

The calendar is a great idea! I'm sure you'll be filling it with X's in no time! 😊

That is great about the walking! Sorry to hear about your knees, maybe there are exercises you can do that don't involve your knees, like pilates or chair yoga?Or elevate your legs for part of getting ready for bed? Hope you figure it out
