We had a late lunch (or early dinner?) at Jon’s Super Market in Torrance. They have lots of Mediterranean foods and you can eat there as well.
I LOVE foods. That’s why I like to go to many kind of ethnic grocery stores or restaurants and try something I like and never tried before.

Whenever I watch the documentary programs about an undeveloped(I don’t know this word is right to use) area, there is always a scene where the local leader prepares a lot of food and welcomes the guests (in this case, reporter of the program and camera crews). Even if you don’t know their language, foods will be the roles like a “bridge” between the peoples.

Keichan, if you are referring a 'poor' area, 'underdeveloped' or 'disadvantaged' would fit better. And you are so right, food is a wonderful bridge between peoples :-)

Thank you for pointing this out. In a little-known area, there is a group called 〜〜〜tribes. It doesn't use electricity and water comes from the river. When I watch documentary programs of such groups, I often see scenes where the leader of the tribe prepares a lot of food and welcomes visitors. Each other can’t speak their language fluently, but once they eat the feast, they just “ smile “ and all people are so happy. I like to watching the moment. I think this is the most purest things human has originally.

Oh yes, I would consider them very 'rich' in culture and hospitality! Just good-natured honest peoples sharing with newfound friends 😊 I've made friends, while traveling years ago, that couldn't or could barely speak English and I couldn't or could barely speak their language. Food was always on the menu of activities! All having a wonderful time!

You would love the YouTube channel Best Ever Food Review Show. He travels the world and he's so fun to watch. I always learn something new.
