day 70
Who does this to their own child: my daughters are being taken on a nice trip for Christmas, by their father. Nice - good fun over the holidays, first one after the divorce. Except that one had to renew her passport for $200 which wiped out her bank account - when she asked her dad for reimbursement, he made her call me after tell her: "I gave your mother a pile of money for child support - call her for the money" - OMG I actually cannot believe that he would be so bad to her. He could have just said he would take care of it and emailed me. WTF, why did he have to treat his child that way?

Anyway, I have a notebook for keeping track of what I am eating and that is going well. Time will tell!

Well, hope you had a better Tuesday than I did.

Oh, Abba, I am so sorry that happened. I agree he should have just paid for the renewal or reimbursed her...after all the money he gives you is for their everyday expenses and the passport renewal is an extarordinary expense. Glad that your food journaling is going well. Have a great eveing!

Some men are just jerks.... no other excuse for it. Don't let it get you down...just be glad you are rid of him. Good idea with the notebook.

He's still upset about the divorce. He'll get over the child support stuff after a while. My dad paid it for my younger sister for like three years, my mom had her home till age 33 or almost 34. I'm sure if they become unemployed as adults they will seek you out since he's not accomodating. My twin sister's three all went back due to unemployment, high rent and low-paying jobs. My nephew just moved back in with his girlfriend after my younger niece bought a house. The best thing to say in this situation is they still have you and a place to go in an emergency should it arise...

Your ex is an a--h-le. But you know that, which is why he's an ex, probably. But his kids won't forget this, will they? What a miserable man. And he probably only offered the trip so that you wouldn't get the kids for Christmas. Good for you for not fixing the problem by eating junk, which is what most of us would have wanted to do.

Money brings out the worst in some people, like my hubby and your ex. Being generous is a supreme effort for some people. We get that. They don't. In the long run, they miss out on so much. Too bad for them. Good job with your tracking. Way to weather the pain. ((Hugs)).

UGH. I agree. Who does that? Sorry Abba ... your girls will work out what they need to with their dad ... but it is so difficult to witness. Take care!
