Day 3 of reset number 250 (estimate resetting approx once a month at least for the last 20 years!) My neighbor came over to fix a heavy drawer in my kitchen under the oven. He tried a little over a week ago but I needed to replace some parts for metal tracks and plastic hinges. Last week he also worked on a sliding screen door that was impossible to open. Today I still needed to find a different length track. I told him I'd call him when I got home. Went to the hardware store in my town and they didn't have it so I texted my neighbor I was driving to Grass Valley to look at the hardware stores there (30 minutes away). Called him from the 2nd hardware store and told him no one had a bigger size so could we just use the size we have. Told him I was getting tacos from Jimboy's and did he want some. He said Sure. I owe him at least 2 meals out for all the stuff he's been fixing for me around the house. Long way to say I had 2 tacos and a large coke today but worked in to my daily calories today. Way over on carbs again though, but I wanted the coke! I did have to have a protein bar because I was too low on protein for the day. My neighbor has a 2nd home here and spends a few days to a week here a couple times a month. Bobby loves him, he loves company and my neighbor has been here maybe a dozen times. I bought a 6 pack of tacos but only ate two and gave him the rest. My neighbor, not Bobby.

So hopefully my CICO for today will be okay. Want to get back 100 or fewer carb grams a day.

Spent about an hour this morning weed wacking raking and pulling weeds,so much easier after the heavy rain on Saturday. Felt like good exercise because it tired me out.

Wild turkeys visit me while I work outside. I put sunflower seeds all over my bank near the pond for the birds and turkeys although the deer come running if they know the seeds are there. One of the bucks turns and looks at me when I say "hi Buck". He knows his name! One of the girl turkeys, a little hen has babies she brings to the bank around 4pm. First saw them Sunday and again yesterday. I went to ask my neighbor to please try to keep her cats inside as much as possible so these babies have a chance. Ever since she got 2 young cats about 2 or 3 years ago there haven't been chicks around my house. These cats are hunters!

I love wildlife and the feral cats and dogs here are their main threats. Tacos sound good. You have a great neighbor.

Aren’t you going to miss all that beauty when you move? Sounds peaceful. Why are you moving?

Morticia, I get upset when are see a hawk flying overhead looking at all my sweet gold finches and the other little birds. There were signs at the security gate when I was coming home with the tacos "mountain lion sighting" "bear sighting" and "rattlesnake season". I don't let Bobby out when it's dark. My neighbor brings her cats in at night but lets them out during the day to have fun.

YOH,lots of reasons for moving which I've mentioned numerous times in journals. Fire danger, weather, and know because of my knee all the stairs don't help. I'm hoping there will some wildlife or at least birds and squirrels where I am moving. I know there are sea gulls!

Morticia, he is a good neighbor. he lives in Folsom where I lived before buying this house. I told him I also bought my house as a 2nd home before realizing it didn't make sense for me to have 2 houses an hour and a half away and both in places with very hot summers. If I could afford 2 houses, I'd stay here in the winters and go to the Oregon coast or Northern California coast for the summers, where it averages in the 60's most of the year.

Nice to have a neighbor that is willing to help you! My sister used to live in Roseville ( Sacramento) and would get lots of wild turkeys in her yard. Also foxes and occasionally a mountain lion…it’s pretty neat and I think when you move you will also see some “ wildlife” Hopefully you will have a few showings this weekend but with Mothers Day on Sunday, I’m not sure. 💜💜

If you have some spare change and you’re living in your house while showing have you moved out all the personal items and bulk furniture, all your pictures, etc. to a storage unit? How r your pics online?

Hi Diana! He is a nice part time neighbor! About my age and seems to help everyone. Last week he went back to his primary home because a friend needed help with his sewer, yuck. My niece is in Roseville, a !little more than an hour away. I go there for family holiday dinners. Also used to go to Costco there, but a new one has been built closer to me. Going to go get a new card, I let my membership expire during Covid.

Hi Misty! I assume you meant spare time. I thought I would be selling the house about 3 years ago so took all the pictures off the walls before having the house painted. I've been gradually getting rid of furniture so the house is empty except for the master bedroom and a few pieces of furniture inherited from my parents (sofa table, curio cabinet, etc) in other rooms. A photographer was here for over 3 hours and I think the pictures are beautiful. There are 50 of them

The idea of moving is utterly over-whelming to me.

Oh nice. 👍

Hi Snowwhite! It is overwhelming but I've been preparing for over 2 years, gradually getting rid of lots of things I don't need, either taking stuff to thrift stores or throwing things away.
