Finally think I am over the trauma of yesterday. My boss's boss decided to yell at me in front of his boss cuz I got an "emergency" call at 5:30 am on my day off Friday and then didn't do anything about it til 8. Made me feel bad that I didn't escalate the dangling branch up to a top-priority-all-hands-on-deck-the-contractor-gets-4-hours-of-overtime-emergency. At one point the big boss said "If this was your family, you'd have responded differently" - to which my first thought was "um, probably not, it was 5 f-ing 30 in the morning on my day off. And my daughters have caused many an emergency call to be made to me at all fricking hours of the day, and my response is always: Not again. Gee whiz, call the police and then your dad. Crikies.
Anyway, my regular boss felt so bad he expanded my hours to longer than I even asked for, so now I can basically show up any time after 7 am and leave any time before 6 pm and as long as I put in 40 hours for the week I get my regular salary. Which means I can stay late and go to the gym on some days, leave early to walk with my friend some days, and generally run amok all week. Yay me!
I am not liking how much chili flake gets put into prepackaged vegetarian dishes. My tummy revolts! Will have to look around for some flavorful but not spicy options.
