In the last seven days I have lost 2.4 pounds. So that is a decent loss. I started keeping records before I joined Fat Secret. I have lost 50.3 pounds since I began my record keeping. This is such a great milestone!!

This week I continued to be fairly physical. My biggest accomplishment on that front is pitch forking all the hay out of my barn loft. There was a fairly even layer about one small bale high. I had to get it all over to one end and out the window. Now that I have a new roof on the barn, there are no leaks. I want to get any wet areas with potentially rotten boards replaced. To do that the hay had to be removed so I could see the damage. It took 2.5 hours of steady working and lots of sweating but I got it done! There is some damage but it is all salvageable.

My daughter's fellow sent over a couple of guys to do an oil change on my fancy ride on lawn mower. I got the whole front lawn mowed last night-1.5 hours. I will need to mow the barnyard next week.

Today I have my grandson. We are stopping at a Colour Run for me to give a thank you speech on behalf of our local Women's Shelter. They are raising money for the Second Stage housing we are building. Then it is off to the Land (where we hold an annual music festival) where my friend is having a Jamboree in honour of her husband who died in January. I baked 7 doz buns and made 4 gallons of coleslaw for the party. It is a two hour drive from where the speech will be.

My daughter and granddaughter will meet us there. They were on a school trip to Quebec for the past week. My son and his wife are driving from Victoria BC to be there likely late tonight. My sister and her man will be heading over as well. So my family will be uniting this weekend as well.

I tried once again to add a picture -- no such luck. First it wouldn't load and then when I tried again it wouldn't even allow me to click on the icon to add a picture! Guess no pictures!

Wow you’re accomplishing a lot! I bet your land is beautiful, too! How much land do you have and do you have many animals? And way to go on your drop; you’ve made some terrific progress! 😊👍🏻

Thanks for all the wonderful support! The person who suggested that I sell my ride on -- them is fighting words!! It takes between 2 and 3 hours on the ride one to mow all of the lawn. When I had a push mower it took me 8 hours to do the house part and I could never get to the out building and barn area. I have 10 acres of land here but I only mow etc by the house and in the barn yard. I am not sure how much that is in acres but I suspect it is way more than 1 acre! We used to keep chickens, turkeys, geese and pigs along with a dog and a couple of cats. When the kids left home, I didn't want to be tied to the house by the animals so we sold them all off and kept the dog and cats until they slowly disappeared by attrition. Now I have none. For the record-- at the potluck feast and the unplanned eating I managed to come home to a 0.2 pound gain!!! Now it is time to tackle the last 50 pounds! It was wonderful to be with the family this weekend and to connect with long time friends. The event, Jim's Jamboree, was amazing. There was live music all evening and into the wee hours, there was amazing food including an incredible dandelion cake!, and lots of people - at least 70+. All of us camped in the gorgeous Fair site.

When I saw that comment by GotAvocados about getting a push mower, I figured she had to be kidding, since you had said you had already taken 1.5 hours riding on the lawn. A push mower would be impossible. I am amazed you can even do so much, like pitch forking the hay. You are incredible. I have a regular city lot, but one time, many many years ago, my husband bought me a used push mower for my birthday. Yes, I used it to cut our smallish 4 lawns, even with my bad back, since he just left it up to me. When our "slight" son became 13 years old and big enough to use it, my husband promptly went out a bought a new power one. Years later when our son left home, I had smartened up a little. I did not take back the task of mowing. Some of the grass reached nearly 4 feet tall before he believed I truly wasn't going to do it. I just said no, then kept my mouth shut. Obviously I was a slow learner. I am glad you are "able" to do so much, but can't quite imagine what it would be like, since I know you aren't a kid anymore.

I had to embrace our push mower when my husband was in a bad car accident 30 years ago in April. He didn't come home from the hospital until August. I had to do something with the lawn. I ended up losing the battle and ended up scything it as it got waist high. However, in my defense, I maintained my full time job as a teacher, looked after our 2 and 7 year old kids, drove 12 hours each Friday night to see my husband in the hospital and then drove the 12 hours home on Sunday, also I hauled all our water in our truck using a 300 gal tank. There was more but the point is the lawn dropped down the list! Later he took over the mowing using our first ride on. Recently, I took the lawn mowing back as he just couldn't do it. But I have the nicest ride on mower ever so it is a pleasure! As for being able-- I am lucky that in general my body isn't hurting too bad with age -- I am 60 so I am not a spring chicken! Ironically it is my fingers that hurt the most -- I haven't worked on grip strength and it shows!

Hi! Yes, of course I was kidding:-) Congratulations on you progress, you are doing great! A manual pushmower would be great exercise for anyone. I used to have one of those, but the lawn was tiny:-);-) Peace&love, A.
