Diario de Debbie Cousins, 15 oct. 20

Haven't been on the website in a couple of days. Have exactly SEVEN HUNDRED unread notifications. Just have to start fresh today. Weight has, thankfully, been staying under the dreaded 250, but I just did a very irresponsible thing. I ordered a KRINGLE from the OHDANISH website in Wisconsin. A friend had bought me one a couple years ago for my birtbday, and it was in the top five things I've ever tasted in my life. DO NOT go to their website!!! I'm going to TRY to share with the other people in the household, or at least let them have a TASTE of it. We'll see how that goes.

Oh, speaking of the "household," I don't know if I told y'all that our "homeless guy" has moved out after living with us for over 2-1/2 years! One of the only TWO conditions for him to live here was that he NOT drink alcohol. Well, come to find out, he has been drinking again for quite awhile, and hiding all the beer cans in our garage - HUNDREDS of beer cans! After he almost got into a fist fight with my son, we told him it was time to leave. Someone else in the church has taken him in, but they live way out in the country and he can't drive, so he won't have the alcohol easily available (we live across the street from a gas station that sells it!) So far, I think he is doing well, and we are thoroughly enjoying having our privacy back. AND, since we no longer have to take his food allergies into consideration, I have been able to start cooking delicious beef and pork again. (He could only eat chicken and fish.) Made a nice pork roast with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes yesterday.

Don't know if I will EVER get back to a Keto lifestyle. I'm SOOO addicted to bread and sweets. I can really feel the pain in my knees from the added weight, even though I take a pill for it every day. I can vaguely remember being almost FIT when I got down to 172 a year and a half ago. Hopefully, I'll get back there someday and STAY there. In my own wisdom, I cannot imagine how that will happen; but, with God, all things are possible!

good to see you here Debbie, Oh my, as soon as you said don't go to the website I just had to since I didn't know what a kringle was! I know I could not have one of those in my house, I would eat the whole thing!

A kringle sounds delicious. I'm so glad you and your family have your house to yourselves again! Even though you don't feel you can do keto again, doesn't mean you cannot successfully lose weight, I am living proof of that, as you well know. I eat 1500-1600 calories a day, including rice and bread and pasta, in moderation of course. I also break all the rules; I eat my main meal late at night, sometimes as much as 1000 calories, because that's when I'm hungry. And, although I am swimming now, I've lost these 90 pounds without exercising. And, I'm 77 years old, so my metabolism is very slow. So, if I can do it, so can you. When you are ready to step back on the path, I'll be waiting for you my friend. Remember, "love one another as you love yourself" means that first, you must love yourself. 💛💚💜

I hear you! Had a dr appt yesterday -- weight came up, as usual -- I told him that I had already recognized the pattern - I gain in the fall and loses in the spring. Working on breaking the pattern. Fully clothed with ankle boots I weighed 241. I wasn't sweating it, as I had already weighed that morning and it was 237 with far less clothing! :)

Debbie, if for no other reason than to help with your pain you need to take better care of yourself. Shir is right....you can lose weight "breaking all the rules".The only one you can't break is you must eat fewer calories than you burn. You can do it....you just have to want it enough.

I do exercise, but break many "rules"...I have lost 42 lbs and it has taken quite awhile, but I do not give up, I get discouraged as is human, but I keep on trying...you can do it Deb, and what a good person to take in a homeless person! God will reward you for sure!
