Diario de Debbie Cousins, 26 feb. 23

Yesterday, I made the Blueberry Muffins. They were TOO good! I ate one, sliced with butter, and then I "had to" have another one! Today, I am keeping two more for myself, but I'm giving away all the rest at church - already have them packaged to go to their new homes! Why do I do this to myself?!

Whenever I get close to going under 200 pounds, my whole body rebels against me! It's like I have to go kicking and screaming all the way to get below 200. I don't know why I sabotage myself when I get to a milestone like that, but I do.

On Monday, I'm going to see Jesus Revolution! I'm going to try to have a SMALL popcorn with layered butter. Normally, I would eat a large. It's extra hard, because the large only costs a little more than the smaller sizes.

Today, we're getting Outback for lunch. I will eat 1/2 of my Victoria's 6oz Filet Mignon with the salad for lunch. I'll have 1/2 of the baked potato (with two slices of bacon, 1/2-oz of shredded cheddar cheese and a serving of homemade buttermilk ranch dressing). Tomorrow for lunch, I will have the other half of baked potato (prepared the same) and the other half of the steak. Yumm!

My daughter is going to be making me crème brulee this coming week. She usually gives me four small ramekins (a little under 200 calories each). They're in 5-oz containers, but she only fills them 1/2 to 2/3 full so they don't boil over.

It's kinda dangerous going into this week, because I don't really have "a plan." We have two people from the church having surgery, so lunches might be affected. One day I know I am going to get a Subway Club Sub and have half for lunch and half for dinner. If I make it to BJ's, I want to get some Lloyd's BBB and make some Chick-fil-A Coleslaw to go with it on buns.

I went WAY over my Average Daily Calories goal this week. If I eat only what I have planned for the rest of the day, I will top out at 1,906 calories per day. Not as bad as week before last, but not good, at least not for me.

Woke up at 2:30 again this morning with my nose running. Allergies are all flared up from digging through one of the "junk rooms" to get together a truckload of stuff to take to the dump. Took a dose of NyQuil last night, though, and got a solid 9 hours of sleep without waking up.

I've walked 1-1/2 of my 2-1/2 miles so far. I'm wary of even SAYING it, but the walking seems to have become a "habit" now. For me, walking doesn't seem "optional" anymore - it is something I HAVE to do. I pray it stays that way for me! As I've said before, I am NOT, by nature, a motivated or disciplined person. Any success I have in those departments is solely the work of God, and I'm thankful for them.

OK, on to walking!

Muffins! Yum! I made Morning Glory muffins modified with Oat Bran. I had one and they were great but maybe I should not have chopped the pineapple so small. 🤣 Hubby loved them. Have a great day and week.

The muffins sound delicious. I haven't made blueberry muffins since my children grew up and moved out, about 34 years ago.

sometimes which just need a little something and blueberry muffins are one of my weaknesses

I have a slow thyroid too and for ME I have to be at 900 calories to get a .5lb weight loss per day. Which means ~2.5 lbs a week. Which is a “healthy” pace. I have built in comfort foods bc otherwise it would be hard to accept the limits. Jello sugar free pudding cups. Plain popcorn. Taco Bell (fresco style soft taco). If I can do it… you can too!

What do you eat on a 900 calorie day? I am having trouble on 1200.
