Good job! I applaud you for being able to maintain weight! I feel compelled to log my food for fear of gaining. I just got back into weighing myself only once a week instead of every day...oh well..baby steps🩷

Great on you for maintaining ... And fantastic photo. Apparently people can eat skunk cabbage - I have no idea how it is prepared.

Thank you all. Jergens when I looked this plant up to see if it had other names I noticed that there is another plant that is also called skunk cabbage. Maybe that one is edible. I think this one was slightly poisonous in quantities. Which is why bears like. it helps them get things moving!

You are doing well, Liv.
Hope your foot gets better.
I would love to have a not-so-warm spring (Missouri shouldn’t be almost 90 degrees in the afternoons, three days in a row, in *April*)! Want to trade places? 😂

Thanks Laine. Yeah it is not too bad where it not for those veggie plants I want to get out there. Right now I have to put milk cartons over all of them to get them through the night.

I am currently in a house that traps heat from the warmest part of the day, even when the weather cools down in the evening. It doesn’t get any cooler indoors even when it cools down outdoors. I am seriously annoyed lol. 😂
Do you grow edible plants too? Which ones?

Edit: you just said veggies, so yes they are edible. My bad. What veggies?

Not bad at all after what sounds like 3 weeks of wonderful quality family time. Hope you heal up quick and don’t come face to face with any hungry skunk cabbage eating bears! 💖

I am trying to grow any thing that will grow here. For now there are greens and radishes in the garden but have a lot of little seedlings that needs to be transplanted

Liv, what exact types of greens?*
I’m guessing broccoli and kale because those are cold-weather greens, knowing you are Canadian.

You are my hero. I was not successful at maintenance last year. Now, I’m giving it another try. ❤️🇨🇦

Spinach, romaine, kale and lettuce. They can all survive the occasional frost. Do not grow much from the cabbage family because they are targeted by insects that it is hard to deal with without chemicals. Probably will plant peas, cukes and squashes next. Trying some hybrid turnip radishes this year so exited to see how that goes. Also grow potatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes, asparagus, beets and parsnips

Oh and tomatoes. Plus there are blackberries, strawberries and some melons happening
