Over a year in maintenance and I'm turning 46 tomorrow. If you had told the girl in the first pic in 2017 that she was going to be over 80 lbs down, wearing a size 6, sporting leopard printed jeans, and have an improved resting BPM that started at "average" and is now sitting at "excellent" and sporting a body that has the stamina to do 39 unmodified push-ups when she started with 10 modified on a wall. I can tell you that girl would have thought you suffered from some severe mental health issues, LOL. But, here I am almost 2 and a half years later. It wasn't about perfection, it was about progress and not giving up. It wasn't about "believing" in myself, but letting go and creating a different story other than the one I had always believed. None of this happened over night, it happened over time. And, it takes a consistent effort to be open to learning about who I genuinely am from the inside out. And, it's still happening - it never really stops...this thing we call "lifestyle change". We just come to understand that change is okay and the greatest measure of our love, potential, and bliss lay beyond our fear of the unknown - so.keep.going :-)

Thank jaimejay - both aspects of this journey have their enjoyable moments to be sure. But, what I can say is there are no regrets. I appreciate and love the will and determination of the girl on the left. She keeps me humble and diligent everyday. But, I absolutely love the strength and stamina of the girl on the right. That girl keeps me committed to the process. Nice to meet you, too btw!

I’ve loved your journey. Haven’t been here for all of it, but I’ve learned one very important thing from you...do a week of maintenance here and there. It’s one tip I’ve appreciated so much egul!! ❤️❤️

People often refer to their weight loss success as making a life style change. I have always felt , for me anyway, that it was more of an "awakening" where I became conscious and intimately aware of how food and exercise was so important to my health and well being. It was like I woke up from a bad nightmare where I had been constantly tossing, turning and very restless and exhausted. The same "awakening" I felt when I became grounded in my spiritual life. Your journey has been amazing!

Very well said. This lifestyle change is like an awakening to awareness to within. We really are honouring are physical self and better connecting with our spirit. What a journey you have had over the last two years. What a beautiful way of sharing your story of change from the inside-out!

Happy Birthday!!! Such a great way of summarizing your journey to a healthier you. Inside and out transformation I think is so true. Conquering the whys are so important and often a painful emotional journey. It's all worth every minute.

Good assessment Egull! I like that you are looking at the things your body can now do - push ups and resting BPM and a new 'edgier' wardrobe that speaks to the journey as well as the weight loss. I like the idea of progress and not perfection. So very true. I also like the idea that it wasn't about 'believing' in yourself but in rewriting your story. I think people can make the mistake in thinking that if you have enough 'willpower' enough 'faith in yourself' enough 'motivation' that somehow it will magically transform into weight loss. Those things are hard to sustain over the period of time that it takes to make the total transformation. Instead it is about progress whether by inches or fractions of inches. It is about re-writing your story that now says that you are that person who sustains progress and not perfection. It is the building of helpful habits that sustain you when the going is rough. I am also glad to hear you honour the girl on the left and on the right. They are both you and they both have gifts to offer. Thank you for sharing.
