~~~Keto Book Recommendation.

Hi all keto people. I got this book out of the library yesterday and I was surprised by how good it was. It lives up to its name of being "simple".

It has pretty much basic recipes, common ingredients, so it is good for the novice cook or novice keto person or somewhat lazy cook (like me).

The recipes are not really original and you can find them online but if you start keto from scratch this is a good place to start.

The book has been out for awhile (2017). It was a best seller so it is in your library and you may find used copies if you do not want to buy it . I think a new book just came out called "beyond Simply keto" but I do not know anything about it

The author lost her weight on keto and she runs a website called keto karma if you want to check her out.

Thanks, Liv! I recommend Carrie Brown's "Keto For the Holidays" when people are looking for substitutes for favorites, but her recipes are a bit more complex.

Thanks for the heads up Liv. I do Atkins most of the time which is a cousin to Keto and I am always looking for a good low to no carb recipe.

Thank you Liv001!! I have just loosely been trying a keto lifestyle, and in 12 days have lost approx 8lbs! so im happy!! I will look and see if my local library has a copy, and gz9gig's book suggestion too... see if i can get hubby interested in trying it too (he is always eye rolling 🙄 when i say im trying a new diet!!

Kathy I really do Atkins as well. To me there is very little difference - especially at this point in my journey. Leanne80, glad you are having success. There are many approaches to keto so do what you feel works for you. If you find the book, let me know what you think.

They worked out!!! I was pleased and they were so easy to make. They are crispy and very cracker like. I had some with some labneh and raspberry.

Basically a fat head base: 1/4 c almond flour, 1/3 cup cheese, (melted in micro), 1 egg yolk, flavouring, make very thin, cook for about 5 minutes on 425. Since I actually have never met a recipe I follow I added a bit of flax meal and more salt than in called for.

I got the second publication from this lady called "Beyond Simple Keto". It was good. A lot of nice tips for beginners in the beginning and the recipes are very basic and simple. Not any recipe in it that stood out for me.
