Watched a show about food branding. Highlighting a few popular products where packaging may be somewhat misleading. One of the product was Vector which claims to be high protein with 13 grams but in reality does not contain much more protein that any other cereal. Other products they talked about where products claiming to be fruit or vegetable but contained very little of any of those. I assume most of us are read the nutrition label. I know that was one of the skills I learned early in my journey.

Especially when they want to sell them to you as healthy and you discover that they are full of SUGAR.

I think many people want to make "Healthy choices" for the family and the food manufacturers sort of take advantage of that sometimes

The most epic one that i've come across was that they market vegetable cooking oils as " cholesterol free".... duhh.😌

Does not make "healthy choices" any easier to navigate!

Always looking at the composition of the package, but also eye with the so-called ration, sometimes it does not coincide with what we expect, better look for 100 gr.

You can never go wrong if you eat a whole food source of protein: eggs, dried beans & lentils, a fish, chicken or turkey cooked from raw.

It’s crazy how the carbs in that are 44g!! I feel like a “high source of protein” should have less carbs than the protein. I wouldn’t be able to eat this.

Yeah, I see this all the time. Another is Lenny and Larry's protein cookies. 16 grams...in 410 calories worth lol

A lot of companies brand junk as a source of protein as a marketing ploy these days. Eg protein snickers bars. And it works for them. People buy into that all day long instead of learning about nutrition and a balanced diet.

Liv, it is even worse in the States. Canada has a stricter regulation on labeling (at least that is my understanding). "Food" is all marketing. Even our olive oil can be a total scam. "extra virgin" south of the border can just be a name for instance and be mixed with something else. 😟

You have done so well over the years. I've told you before you were the first one commenting to me when I came on FS. It's funny that I remember this and it is still precious to me. Thank you for your support all these years. I also see you supporting so many other members here. Thank you for being you, and I commend you for the support you have given so many.
