Probiotics go a long way in regulating your digestive system! Fixed all my issues!! Might not be overnight relief, but it's worth a try!

I second the probiotics to regulate. Also warm prune juice works magic to get things moving. Hope you feel better soon!

If this is ongoing, go back to your doctor and talk with them. Constipation is a serious issue if ongoing; if your bowel gets impacted you can die of it without intervention. Google says glycopyrrolate may cause constipation or diarrhoea; and then recommends you see your doctor.

I've used Calm magnesium citrate in the past. It mixes with water and is really sour. But it really helps and doesn't take long to work.

Supplemental fiber or Miralax. They help to maintain water in your stool. Not systemically absorbed in any way. Always my first-line recommendation.

I use digestive enzymes and my bowels do very well! I get them at Vitamin Shoppe. Excellent life choice for me.

hey. if it's a lack of water, then I'd second the fiber supplement and/or miralax -- they are both osmotic and will pull water into the stool.

even the overnight ducolax are still a stimulant laxative -- it forces the bowel to contract, which might help, but if everything is dry it might just cause cramping and not much movement. there is a dulcolax brand stool softener, though.

Increase the fiber and drink more water. I try to get 40gm fiber and a minimum 2 liters of water per day. The government recommendations are to low.

Medications can be hard on the body, including major constipation. Sorry you are experiencing discomfort with that! I soak chia seeds overnight in Silk unsweetened coconut milk or zero sugar Minute Maid fruit juice and drink it 2-3 times per week. I use 1tbs per 8oz liquid. You can do 2tbs. Chia is 100% fiber and an excellent source of calcium.
But, I’m not on any meds besides my allergy pill.

You might want to try daily Miralax and Benefiber -- talk to you doctor. Mine recommended this, rather than one-shot things like Ducolax.

If you are not on a fluid restriction ground flax seed or Metamucil works well. but you have to be drinking a decent amount. In my experience Dulcolax is fairly useless. Sennosides 12mg po either daily or every 12 hours generally is a good first line of defense. if you go for more than 24 hours without a bowel movement you can increase to 24mg. after 3 days something like lactulose usually works but isn't necessarily fun.
