Oddest thing. M.I.L. Always fed her squirrels and birds so we are continuing but Friday we put out peanuts and 10-12 blue jays showed up. Oddest thing. I have seen one and sometimes two up there before but never so many. Fed again yesterday and same thing 6+ showed up. Tried to get a pic of all of them but they were on the ground and in other trees nearby. Absolutely beautiful tho about 14 degrees at the time. Felt like a message from M.I.L. To please keep taking care of her little wildlife buddies.

Steller's jay! I love them. I've been seeing one coming to get peanuts. Otherwise I have scrub jays and they in the trees for me to bring the peanuts out

We have lots of blue jays although their bodies have more white in them than the ones in your neck of the woods. Loud buggers. Don't see them much spring through fall, but wintertime they are regulars in droves at the feeder. On occassion they have a spat with the 2 cardinal pairs that are nearby residents.

We too were amazed at the birds including Blue Jays that come to the Squirrel feeder. My husband feeds them unsalted in the shell peanuts and they provide so much entertainment. We get small birds carrying away those huge peanuts. Today though a gray fox came and grabbed one of the squirrels so he had a nice lunch on this cold day.

Those are Stellar's Jays for the record. Blue Jays have white breasts and blue uppers. I see them a lot up here in New England.

We feed squirrels and birds too. Jays like a wide variety of food, even dog food. So do titmice. They love peanuts.

Just saw a Blue Jay on the deck rail by our feeder. They used to come every day when we put peanuts out for them. We stopped because the squirrels were becoming such a nuisance. I miss seeing them.

I just put out about 2 pounds of bird seed for the birds since we have ice & snow plus low single digit temps for 3 days.

Bionici thats so nice of you. Ive taken to filling one big pocket with peanuts to give to the squirrels and crows on our morning walk. This morning there were no squirrels (too cold) and at first only 2 crows but fed them and probably 30 showed up and followed us on our walk till they realized i was out of peanuts😂. Smart little guys.
