I have a question, what should the macros be for a firm Keto diet? I'm aware the carbs should be under 20grams, but is that based on a 2000 call diet? I'm on a 1200 to 1500 per day. I'm currently working on a 20%carb 40%protein 40%fat.

Strict Keto would be 75% fat, 20% protein and 5% carbs.

So for a 1500 cal diet 125g of fat, 75g of protein, and 19g carbs. BTW I'm using this calculator http://www.mydreamshape.com/keto-calculator/

whoever came up with macros did not understand math very well since all numbers will vary with quantity if the carbs are constant at 20. But maybe not all dieters are that smart LOL. Anyways keep carbs under 20 is the most important thing.

Ben Bikman (PhD scientist/professor at Brigham Young University) recommends this easy-to-remember formula: "Count Carbs, Prioritize Protein, Fill with Fat." Limit carbohydrate for best overall health. Eat 1-2g protein per kg of body weight to build and/or maintain muscle. Fill in the rest of the day's calorie needs -- depending on your weight goals -- with fat. Also, in my journal post of earlier today, "How low-carb is keto?", I give DietDoctor.com's three "keto ranges": "strict" (20g or less total carbohydrate), "moderate" (21-50g total carbs), "liberal" (51-100g total carbs). Depending on your own metabolism, effort, and goals, choose what works best for you.
