Found this safety squat bar at my third gym today. Love it! Also, it's pretty tough to get a pic with 255 pounds on your shoulders. Next time, I'll use the empty bar...

Thanks, I'm not trying to brag about the weight, it's just how much I happened to have on there for the pic. I haven't really done squats in a long time so it's still light compared to what I used to do before some back injuries.

It's the third gym I have access to. PF, local jail gym, and this one. Not three workouts. I've been known to do that before but not currently haha! Yes, Melissa, that's why the belt is on. I am trying to be careful. So far so good. Thanks. Keyten, it sure feels like a pillow compared to the bare bar. 😁

Thanks dude. Upper body needs to be put through the ringer badly lol. Thankfully I am cardio fit due to all the miles I’ve been logging each day. Just a different kind of fit. Once all these kids move out I’ll put in a gym. Then, NEVER AGAIN will anyone tell me I can’t work out 🏋️‍♀️

power, man, stout! wow "only 255" ...ha! ... that's where i am at, finally, and i strain to get two sets of 8 in. question, though, we have a safety squat bar at our club - you recommend using it over straight bar? i may try it out this AM. though we do have a variety of leg press machines that i am thinking about using, over traditional squat, for ease of use.

Breco, I wouldn't change anything if you're comfortable. I just like that it simulates hack squat. One of the annoying things for me with a regular squat is putting my hands so far back to grip the bar, with this I can balance it with my hands far more forward. Leg presses are great. Go for it!

No off switch, everyday is leg, chest, back, and arm day. 😁
