Day 2 of a planned 3 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting
Blood sugar 96 mg/dL

📅 I’m trying to plan for the weekend where we will attend a Super Bowl party where multiple people will compete to show their dominance in their ability to cook macaroni and cheese, BBQ pork, cakes, cookies, ect.

I’m not going to pretend as if I could act right. I am just planning on a 4 pound hit and working my way backwards…

So, I want to be at 168 pounds (or lower) on Sunday morning. This way a 4 pound hit would put me at 172 pounds on Monday morning. If I pull this off, this would be an improvement over my past post weekends that look like this:

🌟176 pounds (Monday, January 07)
🌟175 pounds (Monday, January 14)
🌟177 pounds (Tuesday, January 22)
🌟174 pounds (Monday, January 28)

Today I 🏋🏾‍♂️ hit the gym, so I will be allowing myself as much Quest Vanilla Milkshake Protein Powder with Heavy Whipping Cream (300 calories - 3 carbs) as I want.

We will have 🌧 rain in Los Angeles over the next 4 days and that will seriously cut into my ability to run. This means I will probably have to ‘no solid food’ fast on Saturday to avoid gaining weight.

@Keilin_4 - Thanks! What really happened was that I did lose a pound yesterday, but, I always 'round to the nearest pound'. So, when I went from 173.9 to 173.0 I still recorded "no loss". I am *really happy* to be in the 'low 170s' :)

@HCB - ...and I have the option to go to SB Sunday and not eat and not gain any weight :) I thought about it, but, it would take a ton of 'mental work' to resist the *insane* 'spread' that these friends lay out for these events :)

@liv001 - Thanks for the support :) This one is a 'complex' multi-day plan that can go wrong if I make 'any changes' (such as deciding to pound 200 carbs on Saturday). Also, I *could* gain more than 4 pounds on Sunday...

I've learned along the way that feasting happens every now and then. As long as you either prepare beforehand or plan for recovery afterward, and make the celebration a one-time thing, everything will be fine. Life has moments to celebrate! Relax and enjoy them. Do the hard work the rest of the time. That's my new philosophy and it got me through from Thanksgiving to Christmas (with my Dad's 80th birthday in-between) with less than a 1-lb gain. I ate everything I wanted (in small quantities) and enjoyed every bite.

Glad to see that you are still going strong - not that I would expect anything less from you! Hard to believe it is still raining there though. Ah, the Super Bowl - any excuse for a party, eh?! :)

I feel you on not wanting to “just say no” to all those yummy sb snacks! I’m getting kinda antsy about my grandpa’s party. But I might actually prefer “going without” verses working harder to make up for the keto sabotage that would ensue. I’m just too lazy 😜
